The New year has arrived, and we are thinking about which hair trends we’ll look back on at the end of 2024 and note were BIG. It’ll come as no surprise that last year paved the way for short haircut trends, with many of us flocking to the salon to chop our lengths into every iteration of a bob haircut going, from blunt bobs to the Italian bob and inverted bobs. And there’s no doubt about it—a quick scroll of Instagram confirms that short hairstyles are here to stay well into this year. From a colour perspective, salons were inundated with requests for red hair, from cowboy copper to cherry cola red, as one of the year’s biggest hair colour trends of the year. 2024!

The Choppy Bob

Since the viral image of Jenna Ortega’s brand-new choppy bob, this hairstyle is fast making a comeback. Seen since on celebrities such as Billie Eilish and influencers Emma Chamberlain & Stacey Dooley this year the choppy bob will be a popular cut.

The Side Parting

Part of the resurgence of Y2K, is the side parting. For a good few years Gen Z influenced fashion with a middle part however, seen on runways from Miu Miu, Loewe to Christian Siriano and Versace the side parting is returning with a vengeance.

Big Hair

The bigger the hair, the better with trends for 2023. Both long and short hair cuts can get on board with this trend by adding curls and waves. Soft waves are out, big ‘not too styled’ hair is in.
