The hair extensions industry has come a long way in the past 17 years, with so many different companies offering different ranges and types of tape extensions. We take a look at the difference between our Rapture Original Hair Extension Range & our Rapture Evolution Hair Extension Range.

Rapture Original

Rapture Original as the name implies was the ‘OG’ range of extensions, we offered over 17 years ago. With its fine header strip, it uses the same medical grade tape that Rapture Evolution has. The originals are available in all lengths and the range offers 27 shades.

Rapture Evolution

Whilst Rapture Evolution uses the same medical grade tape as the original range, the hair is sewed into the tape. This makes the header slightly thicker than the original however it gives the illusion of the hair growing from the root. They are perfect for clients with fine hair, around the sides and if you need to work close to partings. Evolution extensions are available in two lengths, 10” and 16” in 14 popular shades.

So, which one is better?

Honestly, they work best together. It is quite rare a client would need a full head of evolution hair extensions. Due to costings, they might not be able to afford a full head of evolution! Therefore, the hybrid scenario usually works best for a full head. By mixing and matching between the ranges, you can get the best of both worlds. Placing a Rapture Original as the first extension, and an evolution on the top you can get the effect without the cost. Alternatively, if your client wears your hair up a lot, install the evolution as the first extension and the original on the top. When the hair is pulled back in a ponytail and your client has fine hair, they will be virtually undetectable.
